When you’re choosing a forklift, access equipment or training provider, it helps to know the business you’re dealing with works to recognised standards.
We’ve supported businesses across Manchester and the North West since 1994, and we continue to invest in our people, training and the way we work.
Here are the accreditations, memberships and independently recognised achievements relevant to different parts of TAG. Where verification is available, we want customers to be able to check it for themselves.
TAG Forklift Truck Services Ltd is listed by the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) as an IPAF Rental+ member in the hirer/rental category.
IPAF Rental+ is a recognised quality standard for powered access rental companies. For businesses hiring scissor lifts, boom lifts, cherry pickers and other access equipment, it provides independently verifiable reassurance about our rental operation.
TAG’s RTITB accreditation is current. We provide RTITB-accredited forklift operator training at our Trafford Park facility and at customer sites where appropriate.
Training covers different levels of operator experience, including novice, refresher and conversion courses, as well as common truck types such as counterbalance and reach forklifts.
The accreditation means our training is delivered within a recognised external framework, rather than being presented solely as an internal TAG course.
In 2024, TAG’s John Maher was named a finalist in the RTITB Outstanding Instructor category.
That recognition reflects positively on the expertise within our training operation, alongside the ongoing accreditation of our courses.
Our service operation includes manufacturer-trained engineers who maintain and repair a wide range of forklift makes and models.
As an independent forklift business, we are able to support equipment from different manufacturers. Manufacturer training describes the technical experience of our engineers; it does not, by itself, mean TAG is an authorised dealer or repairer for every brand.
Our engineers support planned servicing, maintenance, repairs and Thorough Examinations.
TAG carries out Thorough Examinations directly using its own appropriately qualified engineers. We do not need to arrange every examination through an independent third-party provider.
Routine servicing and a Thorough Examination are different activities. Keeping both clearly described helps customers understand the maintenance and examination support available for their equipment.
An independently verifiable standard supporting our powered access hire operation.
A recognised framework for TAG’s forklift operator training.
Relevant technical training behind our servicing and repair capability.
TAG can carry out Thorough Examinations directly with its own qualified engineers.
An RTITB Outstanding Instructor finalist in 2024 provides additional evidence of training expertise.
We prefer to support accreditation and membership claims with links to the relevant organisation’s public records wherever these are available. That way, customers can verify the status rather than relying solely on a logo on our website.
